The CIM-Tech staff has over 250 combined years of experience in refractory design and cooling systems. We have a skilled pool of designers and engineers that develop in-house 2D and 3D models and perform in-house FEM analysis. Staves, tuyeres and copper cooling members are just some of the products that CIM-Tech has analyzed and developed.
Refractory design is another of the CIM-Tech core competencies. We combine modern computational analysis with many years of in-service experience, knowledge of modern refractory materials and installation experience. Our iron making specialists know where the problem areas are and they know what works. Integrated refractory and cooling systems are analyzed by building 3D models the applying Finite Element Analysis to determine the thermal profile. Thermal profiles are then modified to select the optimum materials and cooling methodology.
CIM-Tech has extensive experience for both blast furnace lining systems and handling of liquid slag and metal. Our projects include the complete design of slag runners, iron runners and troughs including the linings, cooling systems, boxes and forms in conjunction with the casthouse emissions systems.
